She can still remember her first kiss, with her first and only lover. They were in the library, holed up behind the shelves that held books that taught her how to make half a hundred potions. If you ask her, she'll tell you that she can still remember the names of those books, that exact spot in the library. She remembers it was raining outside, and she can still remembers the way he smelled - warm, and masculine, and like his favorite perfume.
But if you ask her all this you'll make her very sad. She might even snap at you. Perhaps it is best not to ask.
BOGGART: Her falling from very high up.
It was her first day in a new school, and they thought that all first years should enjoy flying on their first day in school. She'd never touched a broomstick before, had never wanted to. She didn't remember anything before the actual ride, and then all she remembered was falling, falling from the broom. She'd broken her arm, and had never flown again, or even gone near a quidditch pitch.
Nowadays, flying has become an analogy for everything she doesn't let herself do - dream, love, hope. And falling stands for everything she has lost.
PATRONUS: A sleek cat.
It was not easy to form her first patronus. Not only did it seem like a very irrelevant thing to do (that was before she realized how easy it was to communicate through a patronus) she hadn't been able to think of a single happy memory. Nowadays, she has many memories to think about, but most of them are bittersweet, tinged with nostalgia and regret. Most of the time, she doesn't like to think about them. She won't form her patronus unless she'd teaching the concept and has to do it.
PERSONALITY
In school, Destiny was the girl sitting at the front of her classes, taking furious notes, always getting the top grades in every class. She's very determined and focused when it comes to learning, and she always been a very inquisitive and curious girl. However, she started creating trouble when she first started questioning (and organized protests against) the school rules and since then she has never quite gone back from her overly critical view of authority figures in general. She doesn't think any particular system of governance is perfect, and therefore she is determined to kick holes in the systems till they become perfect, or at least better. As a result, she's made loads of trouble in her time, as almost all people do when they're as intelligent, bold and irreverent as she is.
However, it is not just authority that Destiny is critical of - no one is going to be spared from her sarcastic tongue, not even you. She does not tolerate weakness easily, but she is just as quick with her praise as she is with her insults, though she does not often find a lot to praise. She really does appreciate a certain amount of maturity and intelligent conversation - simply because she's a thinker herself, the inability or refusal of other people to think things through and simply conform to normal principles annoys her immensely. Annoying her is not very difficult, she is short-tempered and extremely opinionated, and while she likes discourse and debate she doesn't really like to be proved wrong, either.
While Destiny is generally a nice person, she's also become a highly closed person. In her youth, she was more open and more friendly - nowadays, she will be polite with you, but it will take a lot more effort to make her open up to you, even if she doesn't exactly lie. At this particular point in her life she is emotionally very closed down, and has become too afraid of pain to actually be able to get into any stable relationships. She's afraid to even try. Instead, she has devoted herself to her work and wants more than anything to excel in it. And she, with her great innovative ideas and insight, has a pretty good chance of making that happen.

CHARACTER HISTORY
Iris and Markus met at the most likely of places - in college. Mark was the impoverished son of a once-rich family that had squandered its money and invested badly, Iris a young orphaned witch who was just starting to get out in the world and wanted ot learn a bit more about muggles before she actually got into the world. They met, had a whirlwind romance, ended up expecting a child before either of them were ready for it - especially because Mark didn't know anything about magic. (He was not told till his daughter's 11th birthday, when she got the invitation to join Salem Academy of Magic.) But with some difficulty and not much fighting, they came to love their little daughter and got married soon after. In the course of this conflict, they had mostly come away from their respective families, and they wanted no other children, so Destiny mostly grew up alone.
They knew she was different even in her muggle school, but it was not until she joined Salem Academy that they discovered what kind of student they had on their hands. In her third year, she ran a full-scale rebellion against the quality of the food served that had her brought in front of the entire board of directors. At fifteen, they passed over her for prefect because of her 'past record' and chose an obviously undeserving candidate. She ran a failed rebellion against that, and learnt that your individual goals were rarely as inspiring as common ones. The next two years, she consolidated her position, and became one of the best students the school had ever seen. In her seventh year, she was the Head Girl of the school, and a favorite of the same school administration that had repeatedly punished her.
After a few more years of learning, she had come back to her old school to teach. By this time, she had built up quite a reputation and was accepted almost immediately, and while she upheld her values she was also slightly better not at diplomacy and she managed to make her rebellions happen from the inside this time. Her brilliant teaching got her great reviews and she remained the 'teacher to watch' in Salem - till, all of a sudden, she informed the Headmaster that she was shifting to England, to Hogwarts, and that she would like a recommendation letter.
There is a missing link in this story, and that is Aiden. Aiden has been her boyfriend and her lover since she was 15, and she thought that her life with him was perfect, until they quarreled seriously because he simply would not marry her, and she did not want another story like that of her parents. For the first time in her life, she ran away, deciding to create a new life. But is it truly a new life? She is on a different continent, teaching the same subject, still wearing his promise ring on her finger, closed-off and tight-lipped and brilliant, still wanting the same things she has always wanted.

RP SAMPLEAlana was tired.
Not that she would admit that, even to herself. She just told herself that Levan, her beautiful red dragon, could not possibly go any further that day, and with that in mind she had lowered herself gently on the ground. After that, Levan had traveled wrapped half way around HER shoulders, and damn, he was quite heavy. In the setting sun, the red scales of the dragon shone, and she hugged him closer. He was the only thing in the world that had even been totally and truly her own, and she loved that about him. He was so beautiful, so perfect, so strong. And he cared about her, which was more than anyone else in the world did, now that her father was dead.
"You're in a good mood today," the dragon told her, telepathically.
"You want to change that?" she snapped back, her mood different in an instant. Even as a child, Alana had been quick to anger, quick to get into the fight, quick to strike. That had been part of her problem, she supposed. The reason that she'd always been a bit of an outcast. Because she simply could not fit in, and she never even tried to. A dark looked crossed her face as the young girl contemplated her family. What was she going to do in that abysmal castle without even her father? She had to shudder at the thought. Levan, sensing her mood, coiled around her neck and raised his head. Though she hadn't seen any of her family for near about seven years, she had never particularly wanted to see any of them - well, except one or two, but who didn't have those?
It was still hard to believe that her father was dead, thought the tall, lean girl as she walked on the hard ground of the western coastal plains. She had taken no escort, because they would slow her down, and she knew that if she went slow then her mother would hold the damn funeral without her, and she could not bear for that to happen. She had to attend, for her father, and then stay, for herself. She was not quite sure she wanted as onerous a duty as the care-taking of her father's kingdom, but the last thing she could do was to leave it in the care of her relatives, each one of whom was a bigger fool than the other. The ones who were not fools were all cowards. They wouldn't last a week under assault from the Crouching Tiger.
Her walking had brought her to a point where she could possibly camp, and so she set her dragon down on the ground. He half flew half walked, while she set about getting some firework. "Levan, flame," she told him, and immediately her fire was blazing. Levan, had hunted only a day or two ago, and would not eat, but she was hungry, so she took out some sausages from the satchel on his back, speared them on her dagger, and let the flame soften them into something half-way eatable. The war had hardened her stomach, but it had left her teeth particularly delicate.
