CHARACTER TRAITS
CHARACTER TRAITS
STRENGTHS: her cleanliness, her attention to detail, wordless magic
WEAKNESSES: her intolerance for troublemakers, her addiction to caffeine, her attitude towards others (sometimes)
LIKES: for everything to be neatly organized, dry humor, her younger looks
DISLIKES: students who act up, tardiness, things not being in order
AMORTENTIA: fresh laundry, perfume, cherry coke
BOGGART: The death of her parents. Her mother had passed away from a long illness, while her father passed away in a car accident; both while Florence was in her twenties. She had been working in the Ministry of Magic as a Misuse of Muggle Artifacts official at the time and wasn't able to get to either of their funerals.
PATRONUS: Animal - hedgehog.
Non-animal - Florence remembers the time when she was in her second year at Hogwarts. She hadn't made very many friends up until that point in time, but she met a Hufflepuff girl (the name of the girl doesn't come easily to Florence as it's been a number of years since they last talked) sitting in the Great Hall during study hall one day. Florence asked her what had happened, to which the girl replied that a few boys had picked on her for no reason. Florence brought the girl to the older students and confronted them with a verbal tirade. The boys attempted to fight back, but after a few rounds, they realized that the younger Ravenclaw was serving them up a nice crow. Florence is glad that she had stuck up for the girl, and the two of them remained friends throughout the rest of their stay at Hogwarts.
PERSONALITY
Florence is a very nice person, if you get on her good side. She's friendly, charming, and just all-around polite. She comes across as your best friend, with her both her sense of and dry humor. But if you get on her bad side, she turns into what she calls "a human form of Oscar the Grouch". Florence won't give you the time of day, if you're naughty/rude/whatever else to her. If you're a student, she comes across as either the teacher you'd love to have or the teacher you'd love to hate. If you love to hate her, she'll be the one who gives you homework on top of homework on the weekends. If she's the teacher you'd love to have, she'll offer her assistance with any kinds of problems you have. Just depends on what kind of mood she's in as well.

CHARACTER HISTORY
Florence has always been the kind of person who hasn't believed in magic. From birth to age eleven, she never knew that there was a whole world out there, full of witches and wizards and magical powers. She was just a normal girl growing up in the world of poodle skirts and pink Cadillacs. But at the age of eleven, something changed. The letter from Hogwarts arrived. Florence wasn't sure why she'd get a letter from Hogwarts out of nowhere, but it came and it shocked not only the young girl, but her parents as well. Her parents were pretty hesitant, but they allowed their child to go to this magical school.
The next seven years of her life were... Different, so to speak. She was sorted into Ravenclaw for her intelligent mind and quick resourcefulness. And the Sorting Hat couldn't have been any more right if it tried. Florence was near the top of all of her classes, passing each one with near-flying colors (the only classes that she was sort of awful in were Potions (C average) and History of Magic (C+ average). But besides those, she graduated after seven years of education. Once she left Hogwarts, she decided to start looking for a job in the wizarding world. She started her career by working for the Ministry of Magic in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts department (interned). Her bosses thought that she was so wise about muggle items, that they told her that she should take up a position at Hogwarts one day as the Muggle Studies professor. Florence didn't know if she was best suited for the position quite yet, and in a span of two years, ended her internship at the Ministry of Magic by becoming a full-time employee in the field.
When she was around the age of 30, Florence met Lewis Law, a muggle lawyer, practicing in automobile injuries. According to Florence, she didn't meet him by accident. Her parents were involved in a car accident during a visit to see her, with her mother passing away after sustaining life-threatening injuries. Her father, who survived, asked her to find a lawyer that could handle the case. Lewis was a down-to-earth, charming man, and helped Florence with the case with ease. They'd eventually win the case, but Lewis felt as though he had won himself a girlfriend in Florence. Florence went on a few dates with Lewis over the months before Lewis proposed to her. In front of family and close friends, the two of them tied the knot that summer.
A few months after their honeymoon to Italy, Florence was hit with another bomb when she learned that her father had pancreatic cancer and that he was going to die within the year. He refused chemotherapy and died seven months afterward. That sent Florence into a downfall, with her mind spiraling out of control. She didn't know what she wanted to do with her life, as her job at the Ministry of Magic was in jeopardy. Florence talked to Lewis about different scenarios (she had told him about the witch thing during the honeymoon, and while Lewis had been acceptable about it, he was still a bit skeptical), and the two of them decided on one thing - that Florence would teach Muggle Studies at Hogwarts.
She's been teaching there for the past 30-something years and she absolutely loves it there. Over the summers, Florence and Lewis have been living a happy life in the city of London, and they wouldn't trade anything in the world for the lives that they live to this day.

RP SAMPLEThere is usually a time and place for everything. On this particular day, at the time it was at the current moment, Florence was having nothing of it. Half of the class was late, and the other half of the class wasn't showing up. And to sum it all up, she had caught a nasty head cold. In a nutshell, she was pissed.
To the students who did make it into the classroom, she had no choice but to give them a stern warning. "You pull this kind of stunt with me one more time," she said, "you'll be spending weekends with me as a punishment. No Quidditch, no club activities... Nothing. I suggest you show up, with your homework on my desk before I start the new lesson. Don't make me have to take drastic measures."
She was pretty upset with her students' lack of perception, but if that was what it took to get a full class in the room for a change, she was all for it.
"Now then," Florence continued, flipping open her course notes. "We're going to have a little discussion on the topic of appliances." She went into a back room for a brief second and then pulled out a strange-looking box with buttons on the front. "Can anyone tell me what this is?"
Silence. Florence was a bit upset about that. She sighed before speaking again. "Let me have an answer from some of you. What is this?"
Still, there was nothing. She sighed again and banged her fist on her desk. "This is a microwave. Guys, you're not going to get anywhere unless you learn about this stuff. I'm sure that some of you have used this in the Muggle world before. I'm also sure that you guys will have to use this a lot when you get older, in their world and ours..."
