CHARACTER’S LOOKS
CHARACTER’S LOOKS
HEIGHT: Five feet, ten inches - just under six feet. William's height annoys him as he is one of the smallest in his group of friends, excluding the girls.
WEIGHT: Will has always been very thin and he currently weighs one-hundred and fifty pounds. He likes his weight as it allows him to sneak around easily and make mischief.
HAIR COLOR: In winter, William has very black hair, but in the summer the sun bleaches it to a dark brown. His style is often based on the deceased Muggle songwriter Elvis Presley, but sometimes he will let it lie flat so it forms a dark shaggy mane, complementing every feature.
From afar, Will's hair looks smooth and shiny, but that is just the various hair products he uses to tame it. His hair is actually very coarse and thick. If he lets it get long enough, his hair becomes slightly wavy, but he hates that look and so cuts it regularly.
EYE COLOR: His eyes considered hazel, but are actually more green than hazel. William doesn't know where his eyes come from as his parents both have blue.
His eyes are framed by long, black eyelashes attached to heavy lids. Although Will finds his eyes intriguing, he hates them. He thinks they make him look tired and run down.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Will has always been a scrawny boy. He is thin with a flat torso and knobbly joints. His thin appearance masks his diminutive height, making him look gangly and stretched. For that reason, he is grateful for his weight.
DISTINCT CHARACTERISTICS: Eyes. Will hates everything about his eyes but the colour, he finds it most interesting. They are unlike any eye colour he has seen before - hazel with a green ring around the iris and pupil.

BOGGART: It was an odd sort of day for July. The wind was wild and felt like ice against Williams's skin, making the hair on his arms stand on end. The sky above him was a dull steel grey and threatened rain. The weather coincided with his mood and as he dragged his feet up the white stone steps, he felt as though he was walking to his death.
He reached the grand double front door faster than he would have liked and braced himself for the scream he was about to hear from inside. Taking a deep breath, William slowly pulled the heavy wooden door open and stepped inside.
His mother was waiting for him in the atrium of their huge, expensive house.
"A Muggle?" She said, tapping her foot angrily. She was wearing her best silk dress and her greying black hair was tied in a bun so tight it pulled at the skin on her face, making look some ten years younger. "Playing with a Muggle? You've disgraced our family in the worst possible way! Did you do it purposefully?" She moved towards the ten year old boy, who had gone as white as the stone steps outside. "Well?" William's mother's voice was becoming more manic, and she was not as composed as before.
"No, mum," the ten year old Will replied.
"Yes you did you filthy little blood traitor!" She looked down at her son menacingly. He cowered. "How dare you even come back to this house! You will not be dining with us tonight, and you will stay out of the sight of my family! You are lower than a House Elf!" And with that, she struck her disowned son across he face and walked away, leaving William sobbing to himself in the atrium, clutching his painful cheek.
PATRONUS: Sea lion.
A knock on the door signalled that a House Elf was stood outside. Will rushed over to his door and opened it. He was starving and gladly took the wooden tray the House Elf was holding. Home-made vegetable soup. It wasn't up to his family's standards, as the House Elves must prepare his food in secret and therefore don't have much time, but he gladly gulped it down and then devoured the bread. If it wasn't for the House Elves, Will would have died of starvation over the summer. But today was his last day; August the 31st. Tomorrow he would be heading to London on the most anticipated journey of his life - he would be heading to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. His school things were piled up to the left of his door, having been placed there by his favourite House Elf - Ellie. He'd sent her to Diagon Alley so that his parents couldn't tell what he was up to. If they had their way, he would never leave the house again, let alone go to Hogwarts. But dear old Ellie had been more than willing to take the job and therefore disappeared a week ago to buy William his things.
Will placed his empty soup bowl on the floor by the door, where a House Elf would pick it up some time in the night, and laid on his bed, pulling the blankets over himself. He was too excited to sleep, but he tried nonetheless and after hours of tossing and turning eventually drifted off, only to be woken three hours later by Ellie.
"You's going to be late, sirs! Hurry!" Will jumped out of bed, staggered sleepily, then grabbed some clothes. He looked at his watch: nine o'clock. He really was going to be late, the train left in two hours! Ellie helped him gather his things together and made sure he hadn't forgotten anything, then she somehow magicked him out onto the front lawns of his parents' house and he ran down towards the gate, beginning his journey to Hogwarts and only turning back to wave goodbye to Ellie, who was standing in the attic window.

William is always surrounded by a crowd of admirers, and he is gentleman enough to let them have their share of things to say and moments in the spotlight. He collects only the most popular people in the school in the hope that they will boost his own reputation and when his reputation is damaged, his smooths it over with his natural wit.
In the classroom, Will simply dazzles the teachers with his performance. He loves to show off in everything he does, and therefore his intelligence shows through defiantly. And even though he hates lessons and rules and control, he still manages to stay top of the class.

CHARACTER HISTORY
William Desmarais was brought into this world on the nineteenth of April, 1996 at an out-of-the-way manor somewhere in Bristol. Like many wizarding children, Will started to show signs of magic from a very young age. He can't remember his first bout of magic, but he can remember his parents talking excitedly about it for quite some time after.
As he grew up, William started to show traits that his parents did not have - empathy, tact, compassion - which annoyed his mother greatly.
The final nudge over the edge for his mother was when William was seen playing with Muggles in the neighbourhood. Since then, Will has been living like the House Elves - silent and out of sight. Personally, he found his new life at home an improvement; he'd never liked to be pampered and spoilt with everyone expecting great things from him. He and his family had always been on different pages from the beginning as he had a hatred for old, pureblood wizarding families and his his wish was to be an Auror.
At school, William became famous almost immediately. His wit and charming personality captured the heart of almost all of the students in the school, but of course there were exceptions. The Slytherins had heard of the disgrace William had brought to his family and were not pleased with him for it, and often reminded him of his blood traitor status - 'fraternising with Mudbloods, you bring disgrace on every pureblood family that has ever lived!'
William found their pettiness highly amusing.

RP SAMPLEThere was a loud bang and a sigh on the table opposite Alasdair. He looked up instinctively at the sharp noise and saw that a Ravenclaw girl his age had just dropped a huge pile of books on her table. She sat down heavily next to the pile, picked a book off the top and began to read, her head resting in her hand. Usually Alasdair would say something funny and witty to lighten her spirits, but today he was just too involved in his own work.He flicked through the pages of his copy of Advanced Potion Making, not really taking in any of its information. Every now and then he would recognise ingredients.
Potions was becoming a bore. He used to love it in his earlier years, but now the potions were becoming less exciting, and the theory was overwhelming. Take this weeks homework for example; a two foot long essay on how love potions affect the body and mind. It was becoming ridiculous., why did he care about love potions and how they worked? It's not like he was ever going to need one.
Alasdair looked back over at the Ravenclaw girl who was almost bored to tears. Her eyes were scanning frantically through book after book, but it seemed she wasn't any closer to finding what she wanted either, just like Ali, really. But then a small smile appeared on her face - she'd found what she was looking for. Ali sighed, if only he could say the same thing. He was bored. He hadn't spoken to anyone in two whole hours and his need for attention was growing. He glanced back over at the girl opposite him again, she was quickly scribbling something down on a scrap piece of parchment. Yes, it was time for some attention seeking...
Al stood up and dawdled over to where the girl was sitting, apparently aiming for the bookshelf behind her. On his way past, he accidently knocked a few books off her table with the sleeve of his robe.
"Oh! Sorry," he said clearly, bending down to pick the books up off the floor. He looked straight at her a smiled, tilting his head slightly and slowly moving his eyes to the piece of paper she was writing on.
"Nice quill, what feather is that?" He tried to distract her.
